Nov-15.2010 - Naked airport scanner

They're arriving at airports across the country. Some complain they are invasive and an assault on our privacy. But are body scanners at security checkpoints dangerous?
Some scientists and two major airline pilots unions contend not enough is known about the effects of the small doses of X-ray radiation emitted by one of the two types of airport scanning machines.

Pelosi took 85 trips on military aircraft. Who paid for it? It's "YOU". Legal US Tax Payer!.-10/14/10-

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and members of her family and staff took 85 tax-paid trips on military aircraft between March 2, 2009, and June 7, 2010, according to new documents uncovered by Judicial Watch.
Pelosi's daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons were on the June 20, 2009, flight from Andrews AFB to San Francisco where Pelosi resides, according to the documents. On July 2, 2010, Pelosi took a grandson on a flight from Andrews to Travis AFB, north of San Francisco.
Judicial Watch obtained the documents as a result of a January 25, 2009, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
Previous documents received by the non-profit watchdog group revealed that Pelosi's travel "cost the United States Air Force $2,100,744.59 over a two-year period — $101,429.14 of which was for in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol," according to Judicial Watch.
"For example, purchases for one Pelosi-led congressional delegation traveling from Washington, DC, through Tel Aviv, Israel to Baghdad, Iraq May 15-20, 2008 included: Johnny Walker Red scotch, Grey Goose vodka, E&J brandy, Bailey’s Irish Crème, Maker’s Mark whiskey, Courvoisier cognac, Bacardi Light rum, Jim Beam whiskey, Beefeater gin, Dewar’s scotch, Bombay Sapphire gin, Jack Daniels whiskey, Corona beer and several bottles of wine."
“Pelosi’s abusive use of military aircraft demonstrates a shocking lack of regard for the American taxpayer and the men and women who serve in the U.S. Air Force. Speaker Pelosi may have a frequent flyer record for taxpayer-financed luxury jet travel,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

World Homeless Day  - 10/10/10

The purpose of World Homeless Day is to draw attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness, while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides.
The Official World Homeless Day website exists to resource local groups to take the concept of World Homeless Day and run with it to benefit homeless people locally in their area.
This is an annual event on the 10th of the 10th every year, but I didn't know that before. We need to teach them how to catch the fish. Not giving them the fish. That is my opinion. What do you think?

California Governors Debate in "Spanish " ONLY - 10/05/10

FRESNO -- The controversy over Meg Whitman's housekeeper took center stage -- and provided some fireworks -- in the second gubernatorial debate Saturday between the former eBay CEO and Jerry Brown, her Democratic Party opponent.

Moderator Maria Elena Salinas of the co-sponsoring Univision television network noted that the debate in Fresno State's Satellite Student Union was the first gubernatorial clash in the state to be held in Spanish. What a crazy world we are living in.
I guess the official language is "Spanish" now... huh?

eBay CEO Meg Whitman 's maid story.  - 09/30/10

Ring tone : ( Right click and save as )

Meg Whitman's campaign for governor was thrown into turmoil Thursday as the Republican sought to fend off new evidence that she knowingly had an illegal immigrant housekeeper on her payroll for nearly a decade.

Whitman denounced the allegations as a "baseless smear attack" by Democratic challenger Jerry Brown in what has become a dead-heat race five weeks before the election. She says she fired the $23-an-hour housekeeper last year immediately after learning she was illegal. That is pretty good money!. Also, why she asked meg for the immigration attorney?  If you need somebody to help for your immigration status, you can figure that out by yourself. you don't need to ask her for that. Plus, I don't think Meg can help you for that either. If you need working visa or something, I think you need Bachelor degree at least. Do you have that??
Some people work for over 10 years to get the legal status to live in the united states. It is not a easy thing that everyone can get it.

Do you want to pay $9 per gallon? ( Now we are paying about $3 per gallon )

Proposition 23 " NO" will make that happen...  -9/23/10 -

This week, California regulators are expected to adopt new to reduce greenhouse gases by changing development patterns and shortening the commutes of Californians.

How?
It’s a bit complicated. In essence, the state regulators set targets for reductions in greenhouses that the state’s various regions are expected to meet. Those reductions will be pursued by regional groups through changes in policies on transportation and development.
But most of the policies themselves have to be adopted by local governments.
This requires a lot of cooperation, so there’s plenty that could go wrong. As Capitol Weekly explains in a detailed and important story, it’s unclear if the targets for reductions in gas – and in certain kinds of development – are realistic. Regional government groups, including the powerful Southern California Association of Governments, have argued for more modest targets. Capitol Weekly reports that one analysis of the impact of the regulations from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, a Bay Area regional government group, predicted that gas prices could rise to $9 per gallon.

A huge big fire in San Bruno ( Near SFO )  - 09/09/10
Homes destroyed, others burning as huge fire rages in this area. It is still burning as i'm writing about it...So sad...

Planning the Koran burning issue- 09/08/10
The pastor of a small Florida church canceled plans to burn copies of the Koran tomorrow, an act the Obama administration said would endanger U.S. lives, before telling the Associated Press that he was only “suspending” the event.
It is a big topic to discuss these days. What goes around comes around. Don't try to do bad things to others.
If you really want to do it, why make a big deal out of it? what is your real plan? Do you want to be famous by having the media give you attention?

Stealing your recycle... - Sep , 2010 -

These days, I can see that people are picking up bottles and cans from the street. It is hard to find those on the street. They walk around the streets a day before the trash and recycle pickup day and steal cans and bottles from the trash cans and recycle bins that people put on the street curb. It is a good thing for the environment to recycle. But, it is an unusual things that I haven't seen 5 or even 10 years ago....
