Practice impromptu Speaking

There are several ways you can improve your ability to express yourself fluently when called upon suddenly to say a few words and I learned two methods to improve impromptu speaking.  One method is to use a device that some famous movie actors used. Once the group of people gathered, they can write down their own subject on a paper and put them in the basket. Then, each person randomly picks a paper and starts to talk about the subject that they got. This method gives two benefits.
1)    It proves to the people that they can think on their feet
2)    This experience makes them much more secure and confident when they are giving their prepared talks and they realize that if the worst should happen and they experience a blackout while giving their prepared material, they still can talk intelligently on an impromptu basis until they get back on track again.
Another method is the linkage technique of impromptu speaking sessions. I think most people played this game before.  One person is told to begin a story in the most fantastic terms he can invent and at the point a bell sounds, the next person must continue the story.
The initiator probably expected some fantastic story to begin with and at the end, the story goes far off the track and I think that is the beauty of this game.  This method of developing skill in speaking without preparation is admirable as a training device.  The more such practice a person gets the better he will be qualified to meet the real situations that may arise when he has to speak. Nowadays, we have curfew limits on top of COVID-19 shelter at home and it is another good way to play this game to spend time with family.
