Vitalizing the talk.

Vitality, aliveness, enthusiasm. these are the first qualities I have always considered essential in a speaker. People cluster around the energetic speaker like wild turkeys around a field of autumn wheat.
How do you acquire this vital delivery that will keep the attention of your audience?
The 1st principal is choosing subjects you are earnest about. It will give no difficulty in talking with excitement and the persuasive power of earnestness was never more vividly demonstrated to me. If a speaker believes a thing earnestly enough and says it earnestly enough, he will get adherents to his cause, even though he claims he can produce blue glass from dust and ashes. How much more compelling will our convictions be if they are arrayed on the side of common sense and truth!
It reminds me of one of my memories when I went to an art museum with my family and it was a special event where I was able to have a narrator to explain each art to the people.
One piece of art was very simple by using a hairpin to hold a long piece of paper and stick to the plain wall. The narrator asked people what is the angle of the hair pin? It is simply perpendicular to the wall and the way that he asked this question made the people wonder and to rethink such a simple question. Because he was very enthusiasm and that makes such a difference. There is only one way to make sure that they will be interested, if you will have no difficulty holding the interest of a group of people.
