Abalone kimchi jjim.

A flavorful dish comprised of chicken, abalone, and healthy ingredients seasoned with kimchi and bulgoki sauce.

My friend caught abalone and gave me some. So, I created this recipe from scratch and the taste was amazingly delicious!

Main Ingredients : Abalone , chicken breast meat , bell-flower roots , jujube , zucchini , sweet potato , white sweet potato ( Korean type of sweet potato ) , shredded cheese , mozzarella cheese , carrots ( julienne ) ,chest nut or sliced almond ( Optional ) ,   sliced onion , sweet basil , egg ( 1 ) , pancake mix ( 1 Tbsp ) , chopped garlic ( 1 tsp ) , Chopped ginger ( 1/8 tsp ) , garlic salt , pepper , salt , bulgoki sauce ( 1 tsp ) , honey Dijon or  ranch dressing , oyster sauce ( 1/8 tsp , Optional ), black sesame seeds ( 1/2 tsp )  

Preparation.
1. Prepare vegetables. You can add potato , chestnut , or sliced almond instead.
   I decided to use sweet potato, instead of potato, because it is much healthier. Please check my secret ingredient section, if you want to know more details about the healthy factors.
 2. Chicken. I used frozen breast meat, but you can have fresh chicken breast meat, if you want.




3. Kimchi : You can buy kimchi from a korean market.




4. Bell-flower roots ( Dorajji ) : I used frozen bell-flower root and soaked it in salty water for 15 mins and then drained the water out and chopped it into a small pieces.



5. Bulgoki sauce : You can buy it from a korean market.




Cooking Instructions. 
1. Chopped kimchi

 
2. Chopped vegetables.


3. Sliced abalone. : You can try to make a thin slice. I made thick pieces and it was a little bit too chewy.


4. Mix prepared vegetables in a mixing bowl and add chopped garlic , chopped ginger , garlic salt , pepper, salt , egg and 1 tps of pancake mix, bulgoki sauce , oyster sauce ( 1/8 tsp , Optional )

5. Mix well and add slices of sweet basil and black sesame seeds, and then mix well again.
6. Once it is mixed well, you can put it into the casserole dish or a  to steam cooker dish. I used the casserole dish to cook it in the oven, and added shredded cheeses and mozzarella cheese on top. 
7. Cook in the oven for 1 hr at 325'F, or until it is cooked all the way through. Once it is cooked, you can serve the dish with honey Dijon or ranch dressing on top.

Baguette pizzas.


You can try to make one with kids. They loves to make their own pizza and it will be so fun to prepare a gourmet meal with a family.
Main Ingredients : Baguette ( Half ) , Tomato sauce ( 1/4 cup ) , Sliced Olives ( 1/4 cup ) , Whole kernel Corn ( 1/4 cup ) , Sliced onion ( 1/4 cup ) , Parsley ( 1/2 cup ) , Ham ( 1 cup), Mayonnaise ( 2 tsp ), Cheddar cheese( 1/4 cup).Mozzarella cheese.(1/4 cup)

Sauce :Tomato sauce ( 1/2 cup ),BBQ sauce ( 2 Tbsp ),Sugar ( 1 Tbsp), pepper(1/8tsp)
* It’s a really good fast lunch or dinner.

Preparation 1.Baguette
2. Tomato sauce(1/4 cup),Olives( 1/4 cup),Whole Kernel corn ( 1/4 cup)
3. HAm chunks ( 1cup), Parsley(1/2 cup), Onion ( 1/4 cup).
4.Sliced cut the toppings.
5.BBQ sauce ( 2 tsp )
6.Mayonnaise ( 2 tsp )
Cooking Instruction. 1. Halve each baguette lengthways, place on a baking tray .
2. Put sliced toppings ,pepper( 1/8 tsp),and add mayo( 2tsp) into the bowl and mix them well.
3. Prepare sauce in the bowl and mix them well.


4. Evenly spread the inside of the

baguette shell with sauce that you prepared.
5.Add toppings that you mixed and drizzle ketchup on top. then cover with olive slices and finally add a thin layer of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
6.Then put the pizza baguettes in the oven for 10 ~ 15 minutes or until the cheese melts.

Oyako-don salad


I created this recipe from oyako donburi and used salad, instead of steamed rice. It is healthy and light dishes can serve for lunch or dinner.
Main Ingredients : Shredded Chicken meat ( 2 cup ) , Sliced tomato ( 1 cup ) , Sliced onion ( 1/2 cup ) , Sliced plums ( 1 cup , Optional ) Lettuces ( 2 cup ) , Eggs ( 2 ) , Sliced sweet basil ( 1/4 cup ) , dried blue berries or raisins ( 1/4 cup ), Pepper ( 1/8 tsp ) , Salt ( 1/8 tsp ) , Olive oil ( 1/4 tsp )
* Oyako donburi with salad.

Preparation 1.Prepare shredded chicken meat.
2. Slice your choice of vegetables.
Cooking Instruction. 1. Add olive oil on the fry pan and add cooked shredded chicken , sliced onion , sliced tomato and stir fry them.
2. Add salt and pepper and mix well. and then beaten eggs on top and cover it until eggs are cooked.
3. Prepare sliced plums and lettuce in the plate and put cooked meat and veggie on top with sliced sweet basil.

Fried Bananas


It is sweet fried banana with cereal that makes healthy. It is also quick and easy to make for desert.
Main Ingredients : Banana (2) , Flour ( 3 Tbsp ) , Salt ( 1/8 tsp ) , cereal ( 1 cup ) , Olive oil
* It is crunch!!.

Preparation 1.Cereal ( 1 cup ) , If cereal size is too big, you can smesh down to make it small.
2. Flour ( 2 Tbsp ).
3. Cut bananas to 2 inch length.
Cooking Instruction. 1. Prepare flour batter in the flat bowl.(Water ( 1 tsp ) , Flour ( 1 Tbsp ) . Dip the banana pieces into the batter
2. Roll the bananna into the cereal.
3. Shallow fry in hot oil for a few minutes or, Array them on the cooking sheet and sprinkle olive oil and cook in the oven for 5~10mins.

Kim-chi Pot-sticker

This is a fun food to make with everyone. Kids will love to make these dumplings,They can create own shapes.!
Main Ingredients : Dumplings : Ground pork or beef ( 1 cup ) , Kimchi ( 1 cup, drained and finely chopped ) , Egg ( 1) , cornstarch ( 2 tsp) , sugar ( 1/2 tsp) , salt ( 1/2 tsp ) , Pepper ( 1/4 tsp), soy sauce ( 1 tsp), water ( 1/2 cup ) dumpling wrappers, onion( 1/2)

Sauce : Sesame seeds ( 1 tsp ) , Soy sauce ( 1/3 cup ) , Rice vinegar ( 1 tsp ) , Scallion ( 1 tsp )
* These tasty treats make a perfect appetizer or you can serve them as a main dish.

Preparation 1.Dumpling wrappers.
2. Wash the kimchi with water and Squeeze them to water out.
3. Finely chopped kimchi, onion and celery( Optional)
4. Ground beef.
5. Sugar and Soy sauce.
6.Chopped green onion.
Cooking Instruction. 1. In a large bowl,mix the dumpling ingredients thoroughly
2. Place 1 heaping teaspoon of pork filling onto each dumpling wrapper. Moisten edges with water.
3. fold edges over to form a halfmoon shape.
4.fold edges over to form a different shape.
5.Steam dumplings in a covered steamer for about 15 to 20 minutes. Serve immediately.

Fruit Sa-ra-da
Japanese pronounced Salad as Sarada!

Main Ingredients : 1 fuji apple , Mayo, Raisin, fake crab meat, sunkist almond accents( sliced almonds), shredded cheddar
* Did you have some left-over from making kim-baq? Don’t worry, I can show you how to use them.

Preparation 1.Left-over ham and crab meat. You can put any things you like to add into salad.
2. Fake crab meat : Chopped to about 1” size.
3. Cut apple with cubic size.
4. Sliced almond.
5. Shredded cheddar/Jack cheese.( Any shredded cheese is fine )
Cooking Instruction. 1. Put all of ingredients in the bowl and added some raisin.
2. Add Mayo and mix them.
3. Mix them before you serve.

Korean Sushi ( Kim-bap)
Would you like to go out on a picnic with kim-bap?

Main Ingredients : Dried seaweeds( 5 sheets),2 cups cooked short-grain white rice ( cheaper from korean market) , 2 tsp sesame oil, 2 tsp salt.
* Open your refrigerator door and use any ingredients that you think it fits well with this dish.

Preparation 1.Prepare carrots ( Julienend)
2. Spinach
3. Pickled radish ( from korean market)
4. Ham for Kim-bap ( From Korean Market, It is easy to make strips )
5. Fake crab meat ( From Korean Market )
Cooking Instruction. 1. Put some salt to boil the water fast and once it boils, put in the spinach for a minute.
2. Pick up the spinach and use cold water to wash it quickly, and then squeeze out all the water by hand and add some salt.
3. Stir 2 eggs together.
4. Cook the eggs in the fry-pan and let it cool down a little before you cut it into strips with a knife.
5. Add some oil and stir in carrots with some salt.
6. Prepare the vegetable dish. It is shinny and looks yummy.
7. I added some black rice, because it is healthier than white rice only.
8.Prepare rice with salt, sesame oils and sesame seeds and then mix together.
9. Spread rice on the seaweed sheet and put all of your ingredients on top.
10. Roll with your hands or use bamboo mat to roll easily.
11. Cut the roll with knife and serve the dish.
